End of Season Announcements

Aloha AYSO Hilo!

Last games are on November 1st.

Thank you SO MUCH for making our Fall Soccer Season a success! We played with over 50 teams of all age’s week in and week out - our coaches, referees, and our parents make Hilo AYSO a safe and supportive space where kids can play the game together. Your support is invaluable to us and to our players - MAHALO!

Coach Recognition

Do you have a great coach to report? An outstanding volunteer? Please shout them out! Take this short survey and tell us how your soccer season has gone - and what you look forward to next year! This survey also helps us plan and prioritize as a board to improve each season.

We have already heard that we have amazing coaches and ref’s like Coach Rob in 5u, who dedicated his time to help the division and coached 3 teams; several Coaches in 6u Girls - Coach Lori, Coach Brittany, Coach Shaye, Coach Mike, Coach Miriam, Coach Hank, Coach Aaron, for being awesome and dedicated coaches to their teams, with their flexibility and patience, encouraging and motivating their players; Coach Zach in 8u Girls, who has been an awesome Coach, motivating the players to work together; Referee Matt who has refereed nearly all of the 10u Boys division games every weekend which let the 10u Boys Coaches engage and dedicate their time to coaching their teams; & Coach Duke and Coach Joy, doing an amazing job with their 10u Girls team. We can’t forget to show appreciation to our new Division Coordinators for 10u Boys-Ipo Kahele, whose coaches appreciated her clear communication, organization, and her support that she gave to them all season; 12u Coed Division coordinator-Dana Hernandez who has done amazing job in this division, supporting her Coaches all season that helped the Coaches develop their teams. To all these volunteers and each of those who have not yet been recognized, we appreciate your dedication and time to make our AYSO teams great!

Team Celebration!

Better yet - take the opportunity to tell your volunteers in person how much their effort meant to your family. Our registered coaches and referees stepped up early this season, committed to hours of training, and put in work on the field and off so that our players would have a great soccer season and learn a few things, too. Our division coordinators and board members came in hot to get teams on the field quickly. Even on our teams, families filled volunteer roles big and small to make the season happen; if someone made the season better / smoother / happier for you or for your team, please tell them!

Hopefully, you have a team party planned to celebrate your players and coaching team. How about a heartfelt speech or local goodies to share? Will you have a water day? Make personalized trading cards? Hand out mini balls for footwork? The important thing is to recharge and celebrate a season well done!

Register for Spring 2026

For the Spring Season of 2026, teams will not have the same players. Players may request one other player for their team at the time of registration; these requests are not guaranteed. Players will be assigned to divisions based on our birth year matrix. Slots will fill up fast, so register for Spring 2026 AYSO Soccer! Registration opens Saturday, November 8th, 2025!

Participate in Select Season

This is a great opportunity for players in 10U, 12U, and 15U divisions to get more time practicing when Core Season ends! Families interested in Select season play may recruit a coach. Only a few coaches have applied and therefore this path is strongly encouraged. Any coach interested in forming a team is welcome to apply. Some teams also compete in AYSO’s volcano tournament, planned for June 2026.

Select season coaches must have actively registered and coached in AYSO’s Fall 2025 season. Coaches must fill out this application and return it to [email protected] by November 6th. Select coaches may then choose their players from all of Hilo AYSO’s active roster, in the team order approved by the board.

Players hoping to be chosen should fill out this form, whether you recruit a coach or not. We will share this information with coaches so they know which players are most interested in joining the tournament season, but we will not ask coaches to choose only from those players.

Division Coordinators

Your Division Coordinators are your division-specific support. Your division is the age group/gender that you coach in and will help to coordinate practices for your division teams. Your Division Coordinator may be a good person to talk to about practice plans as you move into a new age group. Your Division Coordinator will help communication move to and from the board through the season.

Email Communication

Emails are the main form of communication for Hilo AYSO. With more than 20 organizers, 30 referees, 120 coaches, and 600 players each season we work hard to make sure everyone has access to the information they need. This may mean seeing the same information 2 or 3 times as new players and volunteers join our organization; please read each email as new information can be added as the season progresses.
